Why Jiu Jitsu Mckinney Is An Effective Martial Art

By Kathleen Peterson

Most people are familiar with those grappling moves that end up on the ground if one watches modern fights like UFC. These moves are moves from a martial art named jiu jitsu Mckinney and these moves happen to be one of the most effective for practical fighting. Here are some of the reasons why.

Now, one of the biggest weaknesses of a striker such as a boxer or a muay thai practitioner would be ground game. Once a striker is taken to the ground, he or she will be pounded by the opponent into a knockout. Of course, the best course of action for this kind of situation would be to avoid being taken to the ground.

This actually always happens especially if one is hit by a low kick and loses his or her balance. Now, if one knows how to do some ground moves, then he or she will not be too worried about being taken to the ground. In fact, an expert in ground game is most comfortable when he or she is lying on his or her back because of the possibility of creating submission moves.

Now, a lot of striking fights end up in a clinch, which is a strategy that allows one to temporarily halt the movements of an opponent. However, knowing how to do submission holds will put the clincher in trouble. Once the clinch is in, then a grappler will be able to catch his or her opponent in a choke or arm breaking hold.

Aside from just MMA practitioners, this martial art is also often taught to smaller people. Unlike other martial arts, grappling styles have no need for strong arms or high powered moves. All it needs is flexibility and quick thinking which is why it is the perfect martial art for the underdog who wants to beat someone twice his or her size.

In fact, this martial art is not only useful in the octagon but also in normal self defense. In case of a mugging, one will have the ability to reverse an attack and look for an opening to escape. Granted that one may get hurt in the process if the mugger has a weapon, at least he or she will be able to live.

This martial art is especially great for preventing rape situations wherein one may end up on the ground. If one ends up on the ground pinned by a rapist, he or she can either escape using some of the defensive maneuvering taught in this art or he or she may even break the arm of the adversary. While it is not foolproof that one will get out unhurt, it does increase the chances of being safe in that kind of situation.

It is for these reasons that the art of ground fighting is extremely popular not only among mixed martial arts fighters but also among regular people. While it can help cage fighters score a decisive win against the opponent, it can also protect an ordinary person from getting hurt or killed while on the street. It is interesting to note that this art was designed for wars and street fighting which is why it is so effective.
